Dr. Kedar Nath Sahu

Professor

Dr. Kedar Nath Sahu is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women, Hyderabad. He has received two engineering degrees (A.M.I.E) in Electrical Engineering as well as Electronics and Communication Engineering from The Institution of Engineers (India). He has obtained the Master of Technology (M.Tech.) from Visvesvaraiah Technological University, Karnataka and Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), Hyderabad. He has about 20 years of experience in teaching and has been serving in the current institution for the 12th consecutive year since July 2009. Electromagnetic Theory and Transmission Lines, Antenna and Wave Propagation, Microwave Engineering, Radar Engineering, Signals and Systems, Radar Signal Processing are the subjects of his expertise. In 2008, he has published a text book titled “Electromagnetic Waves & Transmission Lines”. He has delivered 03 invited lectures on various subjects. He has guided the B.E. academic projects to more than 80 students and M.E. projects to 10 students.

Due to his continued passion in learning new concepts, he has received NPTEL Certification Awards in MOOC courses like Accreditation and Outcome Based Learning, Electromagnetic Waves in Guided and Wireless Media, Antennas as well as Microwave Theory and Techniques. He is the recipient of Certificate of Competence with Distinction in the twelve-week Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on ‘Life Skills for Engineers (Level I & II)’ jointly organized by Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) and University of Hyderabad. He has around 20 publications in peer reviewed, indexed, national/international journals/conferences/book chapter including IEEE, UGC, Springer, Elsevier and Taylor & Francis. He served as Technical Programme Committee Member of 03 International Conferences and Reviewer of 02 International Conferences. He has organized around 10 conferences and seminars and participated in 40 workshops and FDPs. He served as the Chief Examiner during spot valuation of B.E. subjects and Examiner for B.E. practical examinations and M.E. viva-voce examination at Osmania University, JNTU Hyderabad, JNTU Anantapur and other affiliated/autonomous institutions.

Academic and administrative positions held:

a) Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women, Hyderabad.
b) Head of Department in current as well as previous institutions.
c) Convener of Induction Program 2018 and 2019 for the 1st semester students of the college.
d) MEMBER of Executive Committee (2018-2020) & Chairman, Technical Programmes and Publications Sub-committee, IETE Hyderabad Centre.
e) Co-Opted MEMBER of Executive Committee (2016-2018) & Member - R&D and Industrial Coordination Sub-Committee, IETE Hyderabad Centre.
f) Coordinator, IETE Students’ Forum (ISF) (2015-2019), Stanley College of Engineering & Technology for Women

His research interests include Applied Electromagnetics, Biomedical Engineering, Microwave and Radar Engineering, Applications of Millimeter Wave Radar in Healthcare, 5G and IoT, FMCW Radars, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Radars. He is Fellow IETE, IE (India) and Life Member of ISTE.
