AICWiC’26 – Day 1 Highlights
Stanley College of Engineering & Technology for Women, Hyderabad
The ACM-W Stanley Student Chapter successfully conducted Day 1 of AICWiC’26 on 19th February 2026, focusing on the theme Responsible AI and Human-Centered Leadership .
The keynote address was delivered by Flt Lt Sonali Shirpurkar (Retd.), Founder of Upskill with Sonali LLP, who spoke on “Beyond Classroom – Resilience, Leadership, and Lifelong Learning in Computing Careers.” She inspired students to develop resilience, ethical thinking, and leadership beyond technical skills.
An engaging panel discussion on “ Beyond Code – Ethics, Trust, and Leadership in Modern Computing” featured Lt Col Ashutosh Jha (Retd.), Chief Strategy Officer, ACS Technologies Limited; Mr. Manoj Kumar Dhurbha , Associate Director (Cyber Security), KPMG India; and Mr. Kushal Srivastava , Assistant Professor – Law, Woxsen University, along with the keynote speaker. The discussion emphasized ethical AI, cybersecurity responsibility, and the importance of trust in modern technology.
The day also included a Poster Presentation session under the theme “ Responsible AI Gender perspective in algorithm deisgn” where students from various colleges showcased innovative ideas and research projects.
The event was successfully organized by the entire ACM-W, and CSI Student Council teams under the guidance of Dr. P. R. Anisha, Faculty Sponsor , whose support and mentorship played a key role in the smooth conduct of the program.
Day 1 concluded with enthusiastic participation and insightful discussions, setting the tone for meaningful conversations on the future of responsible computing
Stanley College Hosts Day 2 of ACM-W Event on Careers, Community & Impact, Hyderabad, February 20, 2026: Stanley College of Engineering & Technology for Women successfully conducted Day 2 of its ACM-W event, following the inaugural sessions held on Day 1.
The 2nd day was organized under the theme “ Careers, Community & Impact ,” bringing together academic leaders, global representatives, industry experts, and students on a common platform.
The event focused on ethical innovation, inclusion, and responsible technology in the age of intelligent systems.
Distinguished speakers including Dr. Geetanjali Kale, ACM-W India Chair, and Arati M. Dixit , ACM-W Buddy Chapters Chair, shared valuable insights on leadership, accountability, and the evolving role of women in computing. A panel discussion featuring experts from industry and academia further highlighted integrity, diversity, and impact-driven careers in technology.
Students actively participated in the Ideathon titled “ Idea to Impact ,” showcasing innovative solutions and collaborative thinking. A special address by Rukiye Altin, ACM-W Global Chair, added a global dimension to the proceedings. Yannis Loannidis President of ACM joined us virtually and addressed gathering. The day concluded with a valedictory ceremony recognizing outstanding contributions and celebrating the spirit of participation.
The event was attended by the College Secretary and Correspondent K. Krishna Rao, Management Members T. Rakesh Reddy and R. Pradeep Reddy, Dean Prof. A. Vinay Babu, Principal Dr. B. L. Raju, Administrative Officer A. Ramesh, along with faculty members and students.
The organizers extend heartfelt gratitude to the ACM-W and CSI student council and Dr. P. R. Anisha, Faculty Sponsor of the Stanley ACM Student Chapter, for their continuous guidance and support in making the event a grand success.
